The Denver Bach Society was created in the summer of 2000 at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in the 250 th anniversary year of the death of Johann Sebastian Bach. The first season included performances of cantata #80, Lute Suite #2, the Violin Concerto in A Major, the Well-Tempered Clavier, and the B Minor Mass. Since its founding the scope and outreach of the Society has extended to the entire Denver metropolitan area, involving a wide array of artists, venues and educational programs.
Each season the society sponsors a festival, a major educational outreach program, and a number of smaller events to bring the music of Bach to the Denver community.
