Mass in B Minor
7:30pm, October 20, Christ Episcopal Church
3:00pm, October 21, Cherry Hills Community Church
Like clay in the hands of the potter, an audience's emotions are at the command of Johann Sebastian Bach. In Mass in B Minor, Bach moves his listeners through tears and joy as the mass moves from the mournful "Kyrie" to the exalted "Dona Nobis Pacem." Bach's masterpiece has often been called "the most perfect piece of music ever written" by many. So perfect, that, unlike its contemporaries, the Mass never needed a lovely topical name. The music speaks for itself.
Join the Denver Bach Society as Conductor and Artistic director Michael Shasberger leads a combination of first class musicians from the Mercury Chamber Ensemble, Canto Deo, the Boulder Bach Festival Chorus, and more through this glorious piece of music. In the words of Shasberger “whatever your intellectual, spiritual, or musical condition is, come. Perhaps weep.”
$25 for adults
